I Musicfolk group was born a few years ago as a subset of the Music Piemonteis full-blown Orchestra.

Musicfolk is a medium size ensemble (varying according to the occasions from 6 to 10 elements) of wind & reeds young players (clarinet, alto and tenor sax, trumpet, trombone, bass tuba and drums). The group has performed in several public events (fairs, celebrations) within and outside Torino and Piedmont. Their repertoire draws from the Music Piemonteis huge variety, including folk and pop songs, and also some dixie flavoured jazz pieces.

All the players grew musically inside the Music Piemonteis orchestra; their performances are characterised also by their suits (see some pictures here) which vary according to the occasions from a stylish bow tie and stowpipe hat attire to the Santa Claus costume, a signature to their Xmas performances. They also showcased a neat 2006 Winter Olympics suit when promoting in New York the great Torino 2006 Olympic Games .

Since year 2000 Musicfolk take part as a team to the "Corri in Comune" Marathon taking place in Torino and neighbouring towns (Cirie', Caselle, Borgaro, Venaria).

During the 2006 Torino Winter Olympic games they have been hired by the Torino Province to perform in various Olympic sites, entertaining the Winter Olympics participants. The schedule of their performances for this special event may be found clicking here.
